Margaret River Region Open Studios
13-28 September 2025
A rare invitation into the heart of creativity
Every year, the Margaret River Region Open Studios invites art lovers, wanderers, and the creatively curious to step inside the private workspaces of the region’s most talented artists.
Over two inspiring weeks, studios open their doors and stories unfold — brushstrokes in progress, raw materials on the table, artworks mid-creation. It’s an experience unlike any gallery visit — personal, authentic, and beautifully unscripted.
Set against the backdrop of one of Australia’s most naturally stunning regions, MRROS has become a much-loved event for locals and travellers alike, and a proud Gold winner in the WA Tourism Awards and Melanie is thrilled to again be a featured artist!

The Studio
Melanie's purpose-built studio is nestled among the gum trees on her semi-rural property in the outskirts of Busselton, Western Australia. Afternoon sunlight filters into her light-filled space, bringing warmth and inspiration. Shelves are lined with natural treasures, thread spools, wool fibres, and a variety of other materials, while the walls showcase Melanie's framed original artworks.
The studio garden is filled with native flora and is the perfect scene to look out to for creativity to flow. Melanie draws inspiration from her surroundings, capturing the essence of the stunning Southwest Region of Western Australia. Her favourite pieces often depict serene countryside scenes, seascapes, and intricate flora native to Australia.

Join Melanie for a Workshop
Throughout the event, Melanie will be running a small selection of her signature workshops — relaxed, welcoming sessions designed to spark your creativity, whatever your experience level.
These workshops are about process over perfection, joy over rules, and connecting with nature and materials in a way that feels grounding and fun. Come solo or bring a friend — either way, you’ll leave inspired.

Christian Fletcher
MRROS Collaborative Exhibition
13-28 September 2025
A Unique Artistic Dialogue
This year, celebrated photographer Christian Fletcher presents a special collaborative exhibition for Margaret River Region Open Studios 2025 — and Melanie is honoured to be part of it.
In this unique project, Christian has personally invited a select group of artists to choose one of his iconic photographs and respond to it through their own creative lens. Each participating artist will interpret his imagery in their own medium, creating a powerful visual conversation between photography and other art forms.
Melanie’s Contribution
With her deep connection to the Australian landscape and love for texture, she’s crafting a brand new, never-before-seen piece in response to one of Christian’s photographs — and it promises to be something truly special.
The work will be unveiled exclusively at the exhibition, alongside the original photograph that inspired it.
This is a must-see feature of the MRROS 2025 calendar — a rare chance to witness how artists view the world through each other’s eyes.
Stay tuned for more details — and be sure to visit the exhibition during Open Studios.
